This is a term position NTE 3 years and may be extended for 1 additional year without further competition.
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is looking for the best and brightest to join our team. Lead a staff of Attorneys, Specialists and Analysts and providing overall strategic direction and management oversight for the office.
Promote the goals of equal employment opportunity (EEO) by taking positive steps to ensure the accomplishment of affirmative action objectives, and adherence to nondiscriminatory employment practices.
Manage and evaluate the programs, initiatives, and activities of the EEO Office. This includes, but is not limited to, the EEO Office's compliance, training, and employee programs, and the EEO Office's reporting requirements.
As required, serve as principal attorney in charge of extremely complex and difficult EEO problems that substantially broaden or restrict the activities of the agency.
Review and evaluate workforce demographics and personnel policies, practices, and procedures to determine the SEC's compliance with EEO laws and regulations.
Communicate with senior management regarding the accomplishments and evaluation of EEO program goals.
Manage broad, emerging, or critical large-scale agency programs, such as determining overall integration of EEO functions into every program area and the overall mission of the SEC.
J.D. or LL.B. degree --AND—
Active membership of the bar in good standing in any state, territory of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. (Note: proof of bar membership will be required before entry on duty.
SO-01: Applicant must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-14 level. Specialized experience includes: comprehensive knowledge of EEO laws and regulations, experience providing guidance on matters related to employment matters, civil rights laws, and/or EEO regulations and guidelines; and experience communicating to a broad base audience about complex EEO issues.
