Facebook seeks a highly motivated, team player to serve as Lead Security Counsel for the North American region. This person will report to the Associate General Counsel, Security responsible for the region. Advise on data disclosure in response to civil and criminal legal process and data requests.
Develop and implement policies and practices that protect user data and prioritize user notice relating to legal process seeking disclosure of user data.
Lead litigation efforts related to civil and criminal legal process, data requests, and user notice.
Advise on compliance with federal laws requiring the reporting of child exploitation on the platform.
Collaborate with and support business partners (Policy, Legal, Community Operations, Product, Engineering and others) on safety and security matters, including advising Policy on proposed legislation and advising Product on new product development.
5+ years of experience advising technology companies as in-house or outside counsel, litigating civil or criminal cases, conducting internal or other investigations, and engaging with law enforcement agencies
Experience with the Stored Communications Act, Wiretap Act, Pen Register/Trap and Trace Statute
J.D. and membership to at least one state bar
Experience working with or in support of diverse communities
