The HRIS/Payroll Manager (“Manager”) will collaborate with and report to the Human Resources Director, Benefits & HRIS/Payroll (“Director”) on the overall strategy and the needs of the firm. The focus of the Manager will be administering, controlling and providing direction of the HRIS/Payroll systems, including reviewing and selecting the software/applications best suited for the firm, applying policy and system/application upgrades, coordinating communications and training for system users, providing user support and striving for continuous improvement in day-to-day HRIS/Payroll operations.
Administer HRIS, Payroll and Time and Attendance System.
Coordinate activities related to the design, implementation, maintenance, enhancement and use of the HRIS including evaluating database file structures, access methods, data relationships, impact of new/ change applications, and coordinating conversion of existing applications.
Analyze HRIS and Payroll issues and develop resolutions as related to data integrity, reporting, metrics, and new hire and payroll processing.
Develop and manage the HRIS/Payroll team.
Create and maintain system security levels for HRIS systems.
Ensure HIPAA standards for electronic data interchange (EDI) are implemented and followed.
Interact with vendors for maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrades.
Provide training and support to end users.
Document process and results and recommend process improvements.
Provide general support for HRIS system including resolving issues, unexpected results, process flaws, performing scheduled activities and recommending solutions or alternative ways to meet requirements.
Maintain thorough knowledge of the firm’s Human Resources policies and procedures.
Maintain awareness of legislative rulings related to benefits, payroll and HR.
Maintain current knowledge of federal and state privacy laws and ensure protection of privacy when dealing with protected health information (“PHI”).
Maintain awareness of changes and current trends in the HRIS/Payroll arena, and continually increase HRIS applications and tools knowledge.
Serve as liaison to others such as payroll, IT, third party vendors.
Write, maintain and support a variety of standard and ad hoc reports and queries.
Help to maintain data integrity by running regular audits, queries and analyzing data. Research exceptions and resolve data integrity issues.
Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
Consult with end users to define user needs, reporting requirements and problems.
Train users on system and any new functionalities including but not limited to reporting, data entry and general functionality.
Assume additional responsibilities as needed.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Computer Science, or equivalent required.
10+ years of HRIS and payroll experience. Prior experience managing staff is required.
Experience with Ceridian Day Force is preferred.
Extensive knowledge of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes, and HRIS technology including HRIS software applications, web page design, Crystal reporting, Microsoft SQL service and information management techniques.
