Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is a full service law firm with more than 500 attorneys practicing in offices across the United States and China. The Seattle office is looking for a docketing specialist to support the litigation team. Responsible for creating litigation docket entries for several case teams in multiple jurisdictions. This role requires establishing regular and effective communication with the attorneys and staff regarding docketing in all of DWT’s North American offices.
Docket litigation and other critical events in a timely manner
Ensure that attorney’s calendars have clear and concise entries.
Obtain information from attorneys regarding their preferences for docket entries on their calendar.
Assist and advise the docketing specialists as requested.
Quality control docketing entries as requested.
Assist the supervisor in balancing the work load across the docketing specialists.
Participate in the continuous improvement of the docketing function and Compulaw.
Assist the Supervisor and the Director in transforming docketing into a service to the case teams.
Contribute to collaboration and foster a positive team dynamic with all of the docketing specialists.
Provide Compulaw training to new attorneys and staff as requested.
Work Experience & Abilities Required
2+ years of experience using Compulaw in a law firm required.
Demonstrated understanding of the litigation process, docketing requirements; federal and state court rules for Washington, Oregon, Alaska, California, New York and the District of Columbia required.
Proven ability to develop partnerships with case teams, docketing specialists, supervisor and Director
Advanced Problem solving skills and strong analytical ability.
Strong customer service skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
