Our Hartford office has a great opportunity for a Records and Information Governance Manager (“RIGM”). Under the direction of the Director of Information Governance and Business Intake (the “Director”), the RIGM will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Records Department across all offices. The RIGM will understand, support and provide backup for all facets of the Department and will serve as the liaison with other departments and legal staff. Additionally, the RIGM will assist the Director in developing and driving policies, with a specific focus on retention and destruction, and will coordinate Records and Information Governance training to incoming legal and support staff with the Senior Records Coordinator.
The RIGM must have an understanding of Records and Information Management/Information Governance best practices, regulations, requirements and compliance guidelines, including the application of these concepts to electronic data and both structured and unstructured content. Acute attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, vendor management experience, a strong technical background with excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel along with experience managing staff are required. Proficiency with Records Management Systems, preferably Aderant (CMS), knowledge of document management systems such as FileSite (iManage) and at least seven years of Records/Information Governance experience and 3 years of law firm experience is preferred.
