We are currently seeking a Manager of Training as part of the Information Technology team in our downtown Cleveland or Cincinnati office. The Manager of Training is responsible for planning and leading training activities for the firm. The role is in charge of planning relevant firm wide training sessions for continuing education and personal development. The Manager of Training will collaborate with firm managers, directors, and practice group leaders to identify areas of training. The Manager of Training will work closely with the Director of Technology to identify specific training needs as it relates to new and existing technology.
Job Duties Include:
Identify training needs for all staff and attorneys and develop content based on those needs
Coordinate all on-the-job training firm wide
Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training for new hires
Coordinate and assist with project management needs throughout the firm
Develop project communication plans in conjunction with department or IT project managers
Maintain a training intranet for reference / links and project communication
Manage and support an application support group comprised of secretaries who assist in document formatting/styles and office applications
Participate in direct support calls / escalations from the helpdesk dealing with document formatting / styles issues
Work with outside vendors to coordinate training session on suitable content for courses
Administer word and excel assessments to administrative staff; create individual learning plans
Work with administrative managers to establish annual targets for minimum level of job knowledge, mandatory training classes, and learning objectives for staff
Use WebEx and other remote technologies to perform distance learning, such as remote desktop control, voice and video web cams, and virtual technologies
Create a self-service training for personal firm reference, including recorded training sessions, video conference, and desktop sessions
Develop testing and evaluation procedures
Conduct or arrange for ongoing technical training and personal development classes for all members firm wide
Conduct surveys to identify training needs bases on process, changes, and other factors
Develop and organize training materials, visual aids, and other education materials
Conduct evaluations of all completed training to evaluate and measure results, modify programs as needed
Develop and maintain training materials and information regarding UB University
Exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
Work effectively as a team member with other members of management and the HR and IT staff
Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate, enhance performance and recognize performance
A bachelor’s degree in business administration or liberal arts and at least 3-5 years training experience in a law firm or business setting is required. Microsoft Office Specialist Certification preferred. Must have outstanding verbal, written, multi-tasking and presentation skills along with the ability to create momentum and foster change.
