We are searching for a Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs to join our Multiplatform Ad Sales, Business Development & Digital Team. This role will support all of Viacom Media Networks business units, with responsibility for digital products, advertising, promotions and technology matters for multiple disciplines and on multiple platforms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Providing advisory services and drafting and negotiating complex transactions involving technology, digital product, digital content, integrated marketing, and programming across Viacom Media Networks.
Structuring, drafting and negotiating software and game development agreements, software license agreements, software-as-a-service agreements, professional services agreements, creative production services agreements, social influencer talent agreements, strategic alliances, intellectual property licenses, integrated marketing agreements and license and distribution agreements for all media platforms.
Advising and counseling a broad range of client groups representing all Viacom Media Networks programming services on a variety of complex business and legal matters, including responsibility for, or key involvement in, developing and implementing policies, practices and strategic initiatives. This includes our Nickelodeon network involving Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), Children’s Television Act (CTA) and FTC regulations.
Minimum of 8 years of relevant large law firm and/or media company experience
Extensive and in-depth knowledge of software and technology services and digital media required, with experience required in one or more of the following areas: software licensing and development, social media and influencer/talent deals, digital and linear ad sales, marketing and promotions, copyright and other intellectual property laws, privacy, COPPA, CTA, CARU, licensing and entertainment.
New York Bar membership
Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task to cover a high volume of deals and work independently
