Apple is seeking a Patent Analytics Counsel to implement patent analytics for global patent portfolio strategy and management. This position will be based in Sunnyvale, California.
Description: Apple seeks to hire a strategic patent analytics counsel to implement patent analytics for global patent portfolio strategy and management. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting patent portfolio and patent budget analytics to improve portfolio management and patent strategy; assisting in developing quality and efficiency metrics and associated processes; and implementing effective technology and tools for preparing analytics reports. This position may also participate in tasks supporting patent portfolio development and management.
Key Qualifications: •The successful candidate is a registered patent attorney with a minimum of 5 years experience in patent preparation, prosecution, and management. •Must possess strong knowledge in US and global patent practices (rules, regulations, and procedures). •Must have experience with preparing and providing data-driven statistics and analytical reports as well as excellent collaboration, presentation, and written/oral communication skills. •Must have exceptional attention to detail, priorities, and deadlines, strong problem solving aptitude and resourcefulness, and the ability to adapt quickly to changes in a fast-paced environment. •Technology transfer and/or patent litigation experience is a plus and programming experience is a plus.
Education: Candidates should have JD with 5+ years of relevant experience at a top law firm and/or in-house legal department, superior academic credentials, a technical undergraduate and/or graduate degree, and be admitted to the California bar or be eligible for Registered In-House Counsel status.
