Our Morristown office has an opportunity for an experienced KM Firm Solutions Analyst to join the firm’s expanding Knowledge Management Department. This position may also sit in our New York, NY, Atlanta, GA, Washington D.C., or Greenville, SC office.

Summary of Position:
Under the direction of the Senior Manager, KM Firm Solutions, the primary role of the KM Firm Solutions Analyst is to assist with the creation and development of the Firm’s knowledge management processes, procedures, and technology tools, including various intranet, database, and search tools, research databases, features, and other projects related to the work of the Knowledge Management Department.
Assists in the research, testing/proof of concept and implementation of new systems for KM Firm Solutions Group.
Coordinates with staff to develop, create and maintain intranet department sites and content.
Coordinates with attorneys to develop, create and maintain practice area and client intranet sites and content.
Works with groups of attorneys and staff to test new features and functions.
Assists and train attorneys with use of new search and intranet systems.
Creates and maintains general intranet content.
Researches new KM applications and analyze features and functionality.
Works with attorneys and staff on Legal Project Management initiatives.
Maintains, evangelizes and executes the Firm’s Knowledge management strategy.
Develops, gathers, analyses and reports metrics (including measurements of return-on-investment where possible) in support of the execution of the Firm’s Knowledge management strategy.
Participates in non-Knowledge Management led Technology (and other departmental) projects to advise on the potential knowledge management implications or benefits of the project and to recommend and execute tasks or changes which could further the Firm’s knowledge management strategy.
Promotes the Firm’s model document and precedent collections.
Conducts, facilitates, and participates in after-action-reviews or debriefs.
Analyses and assists in the tuning of the Firm’s enterprise search and work-product retrieval system.
Participates in the analysis, design and modification of the Firm’s document management systems.
Provides training and coaching for other members of the Firm on Knowledge Management generally and the Firm’s specific KM services.
Assists in the development of the Firm’s intranet/portal site architecture and information design.
Conducts knowledge audits and reviews and consults with and advises individuals, groups, practices and departments on their Knowledge Management needs and initiatives.
Provides an in-person referral service for who-knows-whom and what.
Develops and promotes adoption of work processes and knowledge management systems that allow for the effective capture, organization, and sharing of attorney and departmental work product and know-how across the Firm.
Collaborates with other support departments to provide efficient access to Firm intellectual capital.
Keeps current on developments in knowledge management thinking and technologies; and serves as part of the Firm’s presence in the legal knowledge management arena through participation in conferences and peer group activities.
Works with other administrative department personnel to best use intranet, portal, database, and other technologies for knowledge sharing activities.
Participates in projects for the implementation of desired practice-related technologies.
Assists with document automation assignments using various tools.
Updates various experience databases.
Serves as back-up to KM Coordinator when necessary.
Provides exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients; maintains regular contact with clients in order to answer questions, resolve issues, discuss current projects and possible solutions, etc.; and assumes additional roles and responsibilities as needed in order to help further ensure the success of firm-client relationships and to establish a way of exceeding client needs, expectations and outcomes.

Four-year college/university degree or equivalent experience
Excellent customer service skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate professionally and effectively to all levels of personnel as well as external clients.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Ability to meet critical deadlines and remain calm under pressure.
In-depth understanding of and proven experience in all aspects of systems development and implementation projects and related processes (actual development/coding skills not required) as well as systems maintenance, documentation and support.
Familiarity with Project Management/Coordination techniques as well as completing and interpreting project-related documentation.
Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly – must be proficient in the applications listed in the ‘Computer Skills/Office Equipment’ section below.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
High aptitude for analytical thinking and problem solving based on analyzing facts.
Ability to adhere to firm policies and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
High level of responsiveness – must be able to respond quickly and effectively to questions and requests from all levels of firm personnel and clients.
Ability to interpret and follow through to completion, a variety of instructions provided in written, oral or other format.
Ability to self-start and take the appropriate initiative daily.
Ability to pay close attention to detail, occasionally for prolonged periods of time and under restrictive deadlines, and complete assignments logically and accurately.
Experience working in a law firm, preferably in a KM role, is desirable
Experience with/knowledge of SharePoint, iManage/Interwoven/Autonomy Document Management System (including FileSite), HotDocs, BigHand Create, and other systems commonly used in law firms strongly recommended
Experience with User Interface (UI)/User Experience (UX) design preferred
