O’Melveny has an exciting opportunity for a Diversity & Inclusion Coordinator in our Washington, DC office. This role will work closely with the Diversity & Inclusion Manager and the Director of Diversity & Engagement to support and execute on the Firm’s diversity and inclusion initiatives.
Provides administrative and logistical support to the Diversity & Inclusion team, including the Firm’s Employee Network Groups.
Responsible for generating data and coordinating the submission of industry surveys and client RFPs.
Identifies diversity and inclusion goals and uses metrics to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and programs.
Administers the diversity and inclusion budget, tracking expenses and processing invoices.
Assists with planning a variety of diversity-related events including Embracing Diversity & Values Day, the Diversity & Inclusion Leadership Academy, and speaker series.
Builds relationships with legal diversity organizations and taps into opportunities for attorneys to network and build their external profiles.
Manages diversity-related communications and refreshes content on the Firm’s intranet and website.
Acts as first point of contact for diversity and inclusion questions. Builds strong relationships with attorneys and staff, collaborating on special projects within Talent Development and across the Firm.
Stays informed of diversity and inclusion practices and emerging trends.
Experience & Skills:
Bachelor’s degree required. 2-4 years of professional experience is preferred.
Self-starter with the ability to work independently while also contributing to a highly collaborative team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized and manages workload effectively. Balances competing demands and high-pressure situations while maintaining composure.
Demonstrates impeccable judgement and the ability to adapt to different workstyles.
Strong technical skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including the ability to manipulate data using Microsoft Excel.
