The Senior Manager will report to the Firm’s Legal Recruiting Officer and lead the Boston Office’s strategic growth strategy by sourcing, attracting and recruiting highly-talented and diverse associates and partners to meet the current and future business needs of the Firm as well as managing Boston alumni relations.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Direct implementation of Firmwide recruiting initiatives, activities, and meetings in the Boston Office
Develop and manage the recruiting budget
Partner with the office head, practice group heads and the Legal Recruiting Officer to develop consistent recruiting messaging for the Firm and the Boston Office
Review hiring needs with partners, department heads, and practice group leaders to ensure progression towards Firm strategic hiring goals are met
Manage and build relationships with search firms to create a robust candidate pipeline and promote the Firm’s talent brand
Collect recruiting data and respond to surveys from the American Lawyer, Chambers Associate, NALP and other organizations
Develop and maintain strong relationships with law school placement officers
Plan and implement the summer program, including working closely with the Summer Program Committee Chair and members; tracking assignments and evaluations; and coordinating mid-summer and end-of-summer reviews and offer meetings
Provide general oversight of recruiting team in coordinating on-campus interview dates, receptions, and candidate interviews
Prepare for and attend weekly Hiring Committee meetings
Generate reports and analyze statistics for the production of charts
Oversee the organization and maintenance of documentation related to the hiring process, including lawyer feedback, correspondence with candidates, and travel expense reimbursement requests
Liaise with the Alumni Committee, maintain relationships with local alumni, and conceive of local alumni events
Bachelor’s degree with a Juris Doctor strongly preferred
5-6 years of attorney recruiting experience, preferably in a large firm setting; 5-6 years of law school career services experience; or 2 years of practicing in a law firm
Excellent interpersonal skills
Impeccable written and oral communication skills
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Display leadership, intelligence, and initiative and have the ability to maintain professional and strict confidentiality in all department and Firm matters and otherwise exercise impeccable judgment
