National Basketball Players Incorporated d/b/a THINK450 (THINK450), a wholly owned subsidiary of the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA), was formed in 2017 to maximize revenue distributed to the members of the NBPA through exploiting NBA player group licensing rights, marketing and sponsorship endeavors, creating and distribution of content, and owning and operating events.
THINK450’s Legal Department provides advice and counsel with respect to all of the company’s activities and businesses on a global basis. As an Associate Counsel, you will support the General Counsel in providing legal advice to business clients in the Sponsorship, Licensing and Player Engagement & Events groups.
THINK450 is a start-up company and we require someone that can be more than a lawyer. The successful candidate will be a generalist with strong drafting skills. He or she will have a strong work ethic and be comfortable providing legal advice and their business opinion.
The position is based in New York, NY. No relocation package will be offered.

Description: The position will include drafting and negotiating agreements relating to licensing, sponsorship, content creation and distribution (e.g., television and digital media licensing), events, and technology partnerships.
Education: Undergraduate degree and Juris Doctor from a top-tier law school. Candidate must be a member of the New York Bar.
Required Experience & Knowledge:
Minimum of 3 years of experience at a top law firm.
Experience in IP licensing, digital media, technology, sponsorship and/or sports marketing are preferred.
Demonstrated ability to develop practical, business-minded solutions that support business strategy and key initiatives.
First-rate writing and oral presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and in a dynamic, growth oriented environment.
