Staff Attorneys within the Project on Predatory Student Lending are responsible for implementing the strategic litigation agenda of the Project in close collaboration with the Project Director, Legal Director, colleagues, students, and community partners. Attorneys will engage in individual representation and impact litigation on behalf of low-income student loan borrowers.

As a Staff Attorney, you will:
Lead complex and cutting-edge litigation and advocacy in the areas of consumer protection, administrative law, bankruptcy, and anti-discrimination
Participate in the Project's screening and development of new cases, and represent clients in ongoing cases
Maintain strong relationships with clients and partners
Candidates must have a J.D. and be admitted to the Massachusetts bar or have the ability to receive temporary admission pursuant to Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court Rule 3:04. Three years of related experience required.
Additional Qualifications and Skills
We are looking for people who have:
Five years of litigation experience preferred; background in the fields of civil rights, consumer protection, and/or administrative law
A passion for the Project's mission
Strong listening skills and ability to effectively convey information orally and in writing
A commitment to using litigation and advocacy to combat systemic inequality
An interest in working with clients and colleagues of diverse backgrounds
The ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
This is an initial appointment through June 30, 2023, with renewal subject to funding and Project need. We are looking to fill the position as soon as possible, and applications will be accepted and evaluated on a rolling basis until the position is filled. Salary is commensurate with experience. This position will be fully remote through at least August 2, 2021.
