Job Summary:
The eLearning Specialist will be responsible for the delivery of JL Academy’s on-demand and virtual professional development programming, including managing the firm’s eLearning and video conference platforms, implementing the firm’s Learning Management System (LMS), and providing support as needed for JL attorney development and legal support team training at Jackson Lewis. The eLearning Specialist will also have an active role in the firms new external (client facing) LMS system and will help support clients in their introduction to the platform and provide any training necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and maintain JL Academy’s eLearning library and virtual training content produced by JL’s professional development team, which includes innovative synchronous and asynchronous webinars and special academies delivered in remote and in-person environments.
- Moderate/host and record JL Academy’s internally delivered virtual training events
- Manage rebroadcasting of recorded JL Academy programs for synchronous learning
- Support implementation of firm’s new LMS in Workday and other internal systems
- Use LMS functionality as administrator, including uploading content, reporting, updating and managing inventory, and other related responsibilities, as needed
- Collaborate with PD, IT, KM, Comms and other internal stakeholders in designing and managing firm’s intranet site for professional development programs, resources, and other learning content.
- Establish and promote strong working relationships with external contacts and vendors to ensure the PD team’s eLearning objectives are understood and met.
- Assist with instructional design and production of eLearning programs sponsored by the professional development team and other relevant stakeholders
- Serve as technical resource for all JL Academy faculty and the PD team, as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional Certificate of Instructional Design a plus
- A minimum of 2-3 years of experience using technology and hosting virtual training platforms or creating on-demand audio/visual training content for a professional services organization, institution of higher education, law firm, or similar industry associations
- Proficient knowledge of eLearning, compliance and video conference platforms.
- Demonstrates attention to detail
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and client service excellence
- Effectively communicates verbally and in writing
- Must be extremely organized
- Creative, graphic design experience is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities simultaneously and work well under pressure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, including the ability to identify and manage risks, as well as being able to manage technical issues while demonstrating diplomacy and credibility. Capable of working under pressure with a positive attitude and calm demeanor.
- Outstanding project management skill, including the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines is required. Experienced with reducing potential liability and technical issues during trainings.
