The Pennsylvania State University'sOffice of General Counsel seeks to hire an Assistant or Associate General Counsel who will work primarily as a transactional attorney in the areas of real estate, business, finance, purchasing, public-private partnerships, entrepreneurship, corporate and contracting matters. The successful candidate will also advise on the full range of legal issues the University faces, as assigned.
Typical Education and Experience Requirements:
This position will be filled at a level 3 or level 4, depending upon the successful candidate's competencies, education, and experience. J.D. or L.L.B. from an ABA-accredited law school or higher plus five years of related experience. Additional experience and/or education and competencies are required for higher-level jobs.
Additional Required Competencies:
Applicants must be admitted to the practice of law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or be eligible for prompt admission. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the highest level of integrity and professionalism, possess superior communication skills, have demonstrated the ability to work in a collegial and professional manner with peers and clients, and have a strong interest in working in the Penn State Office of the General Counsel.
