Holtzman Vogel is seeking an experienced Director of Information Technology to lead and evolve the IT function of a sophisticated, fast-growing law firm. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands the unique demands of a professional-services environment and can balance strategy, security, and day-to-day execution. Position can be based in Washington, DC or Haymarket, VA.
About the Role
The Director of IT will oversee all aspects of the firm’s technology infrastructure, systems, cybersecurity, and IT operations, ensuring reliable, secure, and forward-looking support for attorneys and staff across multiple offices.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead firmwide IT strategy, infrastructure and operations
• Oversee cybersecurity, data protection, compliance, and risk management
• Manage cloud platforms, networks, hardware, and software systems
• Partner with firm leadership on technology planning, budgeting, and vendor selection
• Supervise external vendors/MSPs
• Support legal-specific systems (document management, practice management, time & billing, e-discovery tools, collaboration platforms)
• Drive technology improvements that enhance efficiency, security, and client service

Qualifications
• 6+ years of progressive IT leadership experience in a law firm
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and compliance requirements
• Experience managing multi-office or distributed workforces
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and non-technical stakeholders
• Hands-on, solution-oriented leadership style
