Position Requirements
Ideal candidates will have three to seven years of environmental law experience or a background in general litigation matters with an interest in mining and water rights and openness for training. Administrative litigation and regulatory experience are a plus. This position involves water rights, permitting review, and defending litigation on federal and state permits.
We are seeking candidates who are excited to be part of a dynamic team, ready to take ownership of matters (with appropriate supervision, mentorship, and guidance) and eager to get to know our clients. Candidates should demonstrate a teamwork ethic, critical analytical skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to excel under pressure and thrive under demanding schedules and deadlines. Practical law school experience (law review, law journal, moot court, or trial advocacy team), and/or judicial clerkship experience are highly desired.
Compensation and Expectations
Holland & Hart’s compensation is merit-based—you’ll be evaluated on your individual performance and achievements. In compliance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws, the anticipated salary range for this role is $215,000 – $270,000 for applicants based in Colorado, is $180,000 – $205,000 for applicants based in Nevada, and is $215,000 – $270,000 for applicants based in Washington, D.C.
Our generous bonus program rewards financial contributions and hard work and associates are also eligible for fee splits.
Holland & Hart expects associates to invest 1800 hours on billable matters, 75 hours of pro bono/public service work (or 50 hours of pro bono legal work), in addition to at least 25 hours dedicated to Community-building, Diversity & Inclusion Investment hours.
